Barnardos urgently needs more foster carers in NSW and the ACT to open their hearts and homes to children in need, including those who are willing to provide a caring environment for sibling groups and adolescents.
More than 45,000 children in Australia can’t live with their parents due to severe abuse and neglect.
These children desperately need what most of us take for granted every day – a safe place to call home.
Whether it be one weekend a month, a year or a lifetime, you have the power to change a child’s life by becoming a Barnardos foster carer.
You can be single, married, with or without children and we warmly welcome members of the LGBTIQ+ community.
Because we recognise the importance of keeping children connected to their culture and community, we are always looking for a diverse range of carers, including those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or Muslim backgrounds.
Barnardos provides training, an allowance and 24/7 support.
Because every child needs a champion.
